| 8360 | 2001-02-05 09:58:00 | I was just curious why my com port 3 is not listed in the device manager? Im using Windows ME and when i check up my modem in controlpanel/modem/properties it says location is com port3 but when i check under device manager the only ports listed are com1 com2 and LPT1. Why is it not listed? Any suggestion would be great. | Guest (0) | ||
| 8361 | 2001-02-08 12:05:00 | Don't fret, most new computers use PCI Winmodems nowdays, these are a software modem, and while they use com port emulation, they don't have physical com port hardware on the boards, Device manager is listing hardware com ports only. :-) | Guest (0) | ||
