I have a H.P.Scanjet 5p connected to an H.P. 8120 Pavilion running Win95 with 32 meg of ram.Up until now the scanner has been working o.k. but now when I try to scan the message ' scanner currently being accessed by another application. Please wait for other application to finish or close it to allow this application access.' This message also appears when I try to activate scanner test. In device manager scanner is shown as o.k.with no conflicts. However the scsi adapter states that there is a conflict or it is causing a problem. I have checked all the cables and connections and thy appear o.k. Can anyone advise how to locate this fault or conflict? Any assistance would be appreciated. Many thanks. |

Try removing the conflicting device from the device manager & let windows re-install it on the next reboot, if this does not work then remove the other device & see if that fixes it on the next reboot. |

Thanks Malcolm for the advice. I removed The adapter from the device manager but when windows re-installed it the fault was still there. What I would like to know is how to locate what is causing the conflict. I hope you or someone can advise me on this. Many thanks. |
