| 8499 | 2001-02-08 11:16:00 | I have a new system running MR I have been unable to make the dial-up procedure 'remember' my password when connecting to my ISP. The 'save password' option is greyed out. Does anyone have suggesstions about how to resolve this? Regards Eric |

| 8500 | 2001-02-08 12:17:00 | This is usually caused by a simple mistake while installing the operating system ie win 98 or ME. At one stage it would have bought up a password box, if you fail to enter a name in at this time, and hit the cancel button, windows has no idea who you are and cannot store relavent details for the user. i.e. saved passwords, desktop settings etc. go to the microsoft knowledge base and there are plenty of fixes available. To get to the knowledge base quickly, open internet explorer, click on help, then select Online Support from the dropdown menu. you shuold find a fix there.. | Guest (0) | ||

| 8502 | 2001-02-08 22:48:00 | Hi Eric, Windows rembers passwords in a file called uu..uu.pwl where uu..uu is the username you used to logon when you loaded windows. If you cancelled the invitation to logon then windows does not know who you are and so can't save your passwords. If you go to search.support.microsoft.com and search for Q137361 it will explain the way to fix this in detail. Regards PC. |
