| 8610 | 2001-02-11 09:16:00 | Had to do a full reinstall Win95 then Win98. Then installed zip drive and lost my last partition. Have two hard drives. Primary drive has 3 partitions [c,d,e]. Zip Drive loads as F. Secondary drive has 4 partitions G,H,I,J. CD Rom is Q. Lost the J partition. It's still there when I check with ONTRACK Data Avisor reports no problems. But J partition does not show on desktop or via explorer everything else is there. Tried downloading latest drivers/software from Iomega and installed zip again same result. Partitions were created with Partition Magic 5.0 but thats on the J partition so I cannot install to see if I can repair the partition this way!!!! How can I get windows to recognise the lost partition |

My solution for managing multi drives is to go to Ontrack.com and download their free version of Powerdesk this excellent file and disk management utility is brilliant if you have multi drives, once installed go to > Options > Preferences >click on the drives tab and retick the missing drive, you may need to reboot then Windows should pick up all of your drives. | 8612 | 2001-02-12 08:21:00 | Thanks Alan Relief to get what sounds like a simple solution. Since I had to reinstall everything it's all been a bit of a nightmare! On the bright side though I'm learning heaps. Thanks again Ray |

If it was here is a link re upgrading Win95 to Win98 and the installation of Zip drives and the dangers of incorrect drive recognition.> www.his.com Notes/tfresh98.htm#installzipdrive Hope it helps Alan |
