| 8639 | 2001-02-12 07:52:00 | My kids are now old / savvy enough to check on eveything I do on PC by using the 'Find Files' function of Startup. This means that I must now save all personal information (diary, financial items, stuff about them) to disc - which is irritating. Is there any way to disable this Fnx or clear it's memory? | Guest (0) | ||

Best solution is encrypting a folder and keeping all personal stuff in that folder. Search on NET for this type of software. I don't reccommend encrypting individual files as there are too many p/w to remember or too many files to change if the kids learn your password. Another option is an encryption hardware lock. Again don't recommend - if damaged bye bye files. On that note whatever you do MAKE regular unencrypted files to floppy disk. A real cheap and nasty way is a password protected zip file (WINZIP or whatever) of all your files. Cheers. NRN (no reply necessary) |
