8573 2001-02-10 22:39:00 I have just replaced my old dodgy 128MB of PC100 RAM with 256MB of PC133. The RAM errors I was experiencing have gone, but now my CPU is running about 10 degrees hotter. After playing graphic intensive games for a while, the computer starts to freeze up. I changed the DRAM setting in BIOS to HST CLK + 33, as was suggested on the first boot screen. Could this have somehow overclocked the computer? The motherboard supports 133 Mhz, but the CPU does not. Guest (0)
8574 2001-02-10 23:23:00 If your m/b does not actually support pc133 ram then it will only run at 100mhz, perhaps check the ram timing as pc100 ram is about 10ns & PC133 chips seem to be around 7.5ns, also CAS timing might be set to 2 try changing it to 3, disable video bios cachable you should not need it if you have a decent video card. Why your cpu gets hotter i do not know.... Guest (0)
