8800 2001-02-16 05:00:00 In a past issue of PC World I remember seeing an article about data recovery and how some software can look back through past formats and still retrieve data. Can anyone tell me of any they know of as I have inadvertantly wiped a very big WAB file and dont want to die a horrible death at the hands of the owner!!! 8801 2001-02-16 08:42:00 I think the software you are talking about is called 'Second Chance' (one of many types of rollback programs). Unfortunately you would have to have had the software already installed prior to the 'mishap' for it to work. Instead check out a firm called Peacock technology webnz.com

you will no doubt need to post the drive to them...they are pretty good. Regards Mark

8802 2001-02-16 09:00:00 A previous response advised you to contact Peacock Technologies. They ARE good but expensive. I use Tiramisu (Which is a data recovery program) and have recovered data off a formatted hard disk using this software. It is not roll-back software but it does require you to save the data to another partition or hard drive.

If I can help further then feel free to Email me.

8803 2001-02-16 11:42:00 Hello Grant

Tony is right about Tiramisu it is an excellent piece of software, and you are in luck as Tiramisu as been taken over by Ontrack and improved (now runs from Windows)and rebranded as '' Easy Recovery '' whats even better is they have made a Free version available that allows you to recover up to five files, more than enough to recover your WAB , get it from the following link >>
http://www.ontrack.com/
easyrecovery/
PS it will pay to write as little as possible to your hard drive prior to running easy recovery as the less changes to your hard drive the more the chances of recovery.
