8774 2001-02-15 08:35:00 Where is the best place in Christchurch to buy RAM?

I'm wanting 32MB 72pin of EDO Ram.I've only got only 16MB at the moment and i'm sick of waiting for the my computer to load.I've got windows 95,So do you think another 32MB will do the trick?

8775 2001-02-15 09:32:00 Hi Andrew

I am not sure about Christchurch, but you should look online for suppliers NZ wide, and order it to be sent by courier.

Look on the Links to the right ----> and select 'Find IT' Then enter ram in the search box at the top and there will be a list of companies that sell it.

I recently purchased 64 megs of SD Ram for $75 +GST, which was cheaper than 32 megs. I don't know what EDO Ram costs but worth a look around, I got many varied price quotes, and many told me the cheaper ram wouldn't work on my HP computer. But it does and I am happy :)

Good luck

Matt

It's not cost effective to replace your EDO Ram, you will be looking around $300.00
for an extra 32MB of EDO as a comparison here's a deal from
www.e-onecomputers.co.nz >>
AMD K6-2 500+ CPU with Fan, 128MB SDRAM (pc-133), Gigabyte 5SMM, Socket 7, integrated Video & Sound
OK it has integrated video but would be light years ahead of the machine you are running now, taking into account that you can sell your old M/B CPU and Ram the new upgrade will actually be cheaper than just adding the EDO.

Cheers.
