| 8771 | 2001-02-15 06:44:00 | Is there a reason why numlock wont work in windows2k on a boot? i enabled the option in my bios 'boot up numlock status' to 'on' but as soon as it comes up to the logon on screen numlock goes off. how can i stop this, my password is numbers so i have to allways press it and its kind of annoying |

| 8772 | 2001-02-16 11:16:00 | Hi Daniel,If numlock is on early in the bootup and goes off during bootup something is either turning it off specifically or toggling it from it's current state. There used to be a dos command which could be included in config.sys to turn it on or off as desired but config.sys is no longer used so try this. Go into bios and turn it OFF then see if it gets toggled to on during bootup, if not,check with sysedit or the w2k equivalent to see if any of the system .ini files con tain a command to turn numlock off.
