| 8738 | 2001-02-14 11:32:00 | device manager reports a problem with Primary IDE controller but no conflict. A SiS 5513 controller and secondary IDE are fine. I've updated the driver but windows reports the best is already installed!This happened after installing Win98 over 95. A dynalink PCI ethernet adapter is new to the system but there appears to be no conflict. The result of the Primary IDE controller prob. is very slow transfer of data from CD rom to HDD. Any Ideas? |

| 8739 | 2001-02-16 09:36:00 | try this. go into safe mode device manager ,remove ide controllers and any other ghosts. shut down, remove all cards except video card. restart, windows should load drivers, shut down and install cards back in. | Guest (0) | ||
