8714 2001-02-14 06:27:00 I have a Seagate 40 GB 5400 rpm HDD, I tried to partition it using fdisk into 3 HDD 20 10 10, with my 20 as primary partition. The problem is after I made the primary dos partition and one extended dos partition, they won't let me make anymore!?!?! Can some plz give me a few pointers here.... Guest (0)

Don't know all the answers here but you need to provide some more info.Type of PC, age, Operating System, BIOS setup etc. I would only create the C partition then load a windows OS and use that to do the other partitions. This is very sucessful with WIN NT not too sure about win95 or 98. Cheers

8716 2001-02-14 09:28:00 What you say is right - you can only have one primary partition and one extended partition - but you can divide the extended partition into more logical partitions. Guest (0)
