8822 2001-02-16 06:18:00 Hi
I have recently brought a second-hand IBM ThinkPAd 310ED
as is.
I got it really cheap.
The big problem is that it has a security password lock when i first start the computer and don't know the password and neither does the person I brought it off.
Is there someway of getting around this??
Perhaps a technical way?

Big thanx to ANY one with suggestions.

Regards
Nig

8823 2001-02-16 08:29:00 I'm not familiar with this model but to give u a bit of info.. most desktops you would have a jumper on the m/bd you could change that would clear the pwd in bios (either that or remove the bios battery o/nite). With laptops/notepads it can be a different kettle of fish. I would suggest you search the internet for specific info on your model...after all the biggest technical database and helpline is right at your fingertips.... Guest (0)
8824 2001-02-17 01:46:00 You should have a serial number for that IBM, ring up IBM technical service and tell them the number and they should know everything about that laptop and may guide you throught reseting the password, the phone number is just in the phone book. Guest (0)
