8917 2001-02-19 01:26:00 My HP6700 is 2 months old and I have had 3x vmm problems (vmm(01)+00013c17 Error:OE: 0028:c0014c17 ).These are not always the same numbers.
It's been back to the shop & had the RAM tested and the HDD scanned but the problem has reappeared.I've done a full recovery 3 times.
Any help would be appreciated.

8918 2001-02-23 03:53:00 These VMM errors if they keep occuring, are normally associated to dodgy RAM, I'd borrow some friends RAM, Making sure it is the right type for your HP. PC133? and give it a try.

If it doenst solve the problem, I'd check to see what programs you are running. If it happends on a bog standard Windows build with no other programs installed, TAKE IT BACK, and demand the ram replaced, or better yet, a replacement computer, as it may also be a problem on the motherboard.

8919 2001-02-23 06:38:00 Hello Rob

I thought I had already posted this, but see it does not appear anywhere, so not sure as to what happened.
Just in case you did not see it, I will repeat the info for you.
Vmm errors are normally caused by errant vxd drivers,
usually associated with your video card, that explains why three recoveries has made no difference, as you are reloading the problem drivers every time you recover.
Solution, go to your video card manufacturers website, download and install new drivers and your problem should be rectified.
