| 8874 | 2001-02-17 21:43:00 | I have been trying to connect my home computer(Win2000, stand alone machine) at school(NT4 Server based Network) I have tried to make the necessary changes on my computers 'Network Identity' - although it's not allowing me to specify the school's domain (- so has workgroup setting) After rebooting when I try logging on to the network, I get the message 'Unable to log you on, the Netlogon service is not running' I have tried unsuccessfully to start the Netlogon service with a message 'Windows could not start the Net Logon. For more information review System Event Log. If this is a nonMS service contact the service vendor and refer to server-specific error code 3095' The Systems Event Viewer does show a repeating error. 'The IP address lease 0.0.0.0 for network address 00CODFE73ACC has been denied by the DHCP server 0.0.0.0 (The DCHDNACC server sent a message) Any suggestion ???? Is the problem with my machine? Or with the NT Server?(-it hasn't had a Win2000 client on it before) Could it be the Network Card which I dropped into my computer isn't properly working? - I relied on PnP Any help gratefully recieved Ken |

Whan logged in as Administrator, go to control panel/system, select the network identification tab and click on 'Network ID'. This is a wizard which will help you connect to the network correctly. |

| 8876 | 2001-02-21 06:47:00 | Thanks Paul I ended up sorting out the problem. Norton's 'Internet Security' was blocking things. Connnection to the network was made once I removed this programme from the home computer |
