I run Windows 98. I am having trouble with my display settings, which seem to be stuck on 16 colors. Using the settings tab on the display colors dialog box, I change to 256 colors (640x480 pixels), press apply and OK, then re-boot. But the PC starts up in 16 colors again. (Straight after pushing the 'apply' button, I can see the 256 color selection flick back to 16 colors.) What should I be doing differently? |

It sounds like you either have the default Vga graphics drivers installed or the incorrect drivers for your video card. |

Thanks for your reply, Murray. The drivers were already installed when I bought the PC 20 mths ago, and have worked fine (in 256 color mode) since then, apart from the past week. I haven't knowingly done anything to them. What do you suggest I do? |
