| 8908 | 2001-02-18 21:59:00 | I had alot of problems with a win95 system in that it kept receiving various exceptions (both in dos/blue form and suspiciously win3.11 looking windows)on startup and then shutting itself down. I deleted win95 and installed win98. Now I get a message in plain dos text during the splash saying 'Error writing to device AUX'. Sometimes it gets to windows but then I get the same problem I had in win95 with various exceptions. It seems to do better in safe-mode but is still a bit shakey. Help please. | Guest (0) | ||

To correct this, add the following lines to the SYSTEM.INI file in the WINDOWS directory: [Debug] OutputTo=NUL Especially relevant if you have gona along the upgrade path Windows 3.1,95,98 Regards Alan |
