| 8949 | 2001-02-19 08:49:00 | I am trying to run the 'defrag' program from 'System tools' - Windows 98. The program asks which drive etc I want to defrag, I click 'C' and the program starts. This is where the problem is however as no matter how long I leave it running ( and I mean up to 6 -7 hours) it gets to '10% complete' and then goes back to the beginning and starts all over agian - it cannot seem to get past 10%. Any ideas please, and I am now noticing a marked decrease in overall speed of the system. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Lance tebbutt HAMILTON |

Best answer is to make sure you close ALL running programs, then start the DeFrag. The running programs will change the contents of the Drive and DeFrag will start again. Easiest is to boot the computer in safe mode the run the DeFrag. I hope this helps. |
