| 9110 | 2001-02-23 20:08:00 | Have Win ME, 30Gb HD. How do I split the HD into 3 sections (partitions/drives?). Is it possible to secure such a section using a password or whatever? Appreciate some help. | Guest (0) | ||

A problem arises only if you already have the operating system loaded on,if that is the case you will have to get hold of a utility like Partition Magic,it allows you to repartition without the need for formatting. If you don't have an operating system loaded, the solution is simple. My recommendation go to your hard drive makers website and download their free Disk utility for installation of hardrives, this makes partitioning simple for anyone, even complete newcomers can partition easily using these utilities. The second question Re passwords, the easiest and most effective is just go to your bios configuration and enter a password there (don't forget it or you won't easily be able to regain access to your system) This will prevent your PC fully loading until a password is entered Regards Alan |
