9058 2001-02-22 10:06:00 I have tried to clear the address using the Internet Options but it conitues to revert to an address not loaded by me. The address should be www.cnn.com but reverts to

browser.secondpower.com

This does not happen in Netscape.

Appreciate advise how to get the default home page to 'stick'.

9059 2001-02-22 10:48:00 It would seem to have something to do with a site called secondpower.com.
You may have you set your homepage to them by accident or something downloaded from them has done it.

First check to make sure it's not a installed program thats doing it (check the startup folder) then try the following:

To resolve this issue in Internet Explorer 4.x, use Registry Editor to Change the 'HomePage' value to '0' in the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Control Panel

To work around this issue in Internet Explorer 5, delete the following registry key, and then restart Internet Explorer:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Control Panel\HomePage

9060 2001-02-28 09:45:00 Thank you for the help. Unfortunatley when I reviewed the registry file the directory Policies did not exist. However I opened all the files one by one and found the location.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet_Expl orer\Main

and I edited the Search Bar which had
http://browser.secondpower.com
and the start page which had the full address shown above.

When I started Internet Explorer again, it went fine and straight to CNN site.

Thanks for the help in pointing to the right place.
