| 9278 | 2001-02-27 03:11:00 | Hi All We have a DSL connection, Nokia modem supplied by telecom, direct to our lan, 10 w/s win95/8 NT4w/s Win2k, any susestions on an easy way to go about securing above? What do you reccomend, Gateway or firewall? THANKS |

| 9280 | 2001-02-28 05:12:00 | Hi, I'd suggest you add the NetBeui protocol to all machines (if they are all on the same network), then unbind TCP/IP fom using Netbios. If it's the type of connection I'm thinking of, The router will perform NAT so unless you create inbound 'pinholes' in the router config, it should be extremely hard for someone to get in. Perform the usual security things like virus scanning to avoid Trogen apps from getting into your network too. |
