| 9300 | 2001-02-27 07:24:00 | Hi, I just recently got a new computer with an ASUS Socket A A7V Motherboard and some other bells and whistles. But surprise came when I saw that Windows 2000/NT couldn't find the boot device, I installed Windows 98 anyway and found that when I installed programs the computer froze when copying files (It also froze sometimes when starting windows or even starting the installation program). I contacted the support guy that told me that I needed the Promise UDMA 100 Drivers installed, I installed them but the problem failed to go away. I tried installing Windows 2000/NT again (using a disk with the promise drivers) to choose the Mass storage drivers, but there was an error withe the .sys file on the disk. I am completly lost, does anyone have ANY ideas? Thanks, Philip Quinn |
