9281 2001-02-27 03:26:00 I read that to fix the defragmenting not completing its task you should start in save mode. How do you do this? Thanks in advance! Guest (0)

9283 2001-03-01 07:22:00 Thanks, successfully done. Do I then need to restart or is there a way to proceed as per normal? Where can I find out about what 'safe mode' is and is for (apart from getting you 'experts' to 'waste time' telling newbies such basic stuff? Guest (0)
9284 2001-03-03 23:26:00 No, it sounds more like some program is continually accessing your cpu.
Programs like your anivirus, screen saver, auto email checker etc.
I use ENDITALL before defraging. This prog stops all running programs except iexplorer and sys tray.
Remember, it is not unusual for the defragging to halt for a while at 10%, just be patiant.
I always do a disc scan before defragging and restart my computer after.
