| 1247974 | 2011-12-10 01:55:00 | Just heard the final election results. I am a bit upset that we are gong to have a deaf MP. (even though most of the others are dumb) It seems to me that the Greens were a bit irresponsible putting a deaf person on their list ! She is profoundly deaf, so how will she be able to listen to all the debates in parliament. And we now have to pay for a full time translator ! Most other sorts of disabilities would be OK with me, but a law maker needs to be able to hear whats going on in the heat of debate and select committees etc . |

How many participants (is that is the correct word?) use it on a daily basis? What about Polish, Indian, Samoan, Egyptian, Greek, French and so on?? I'm sure that there are more of them in NZ than deaf speakers. |
