1247791 2011-12-08 21:13:00 If you have a DTVS-T1 Freeview Tuner - Recorder (see HERE (www.dtvs.co.nz)for link), and if you have connected a hard drive to it, can you watch all the ten other channels during recording?

When I record a program, most of the other channels disappear. For instance, if I record TV1 then only TV2, U and 7 are available.
DTV Solutions customer technical support claims it is normal :waughh: and nothing is wrong with the unit I have.

See my other thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz)for background info.

Thanks.

1247792 2011-12-09 00:56:00 "Freeview accredited" most likely means you can't do anything with the recorded content.. paulw (1826)
1247793 2011-12-09 11:18:00 It looks like a single tuner, therefore if you are recording something you will be restricted to viewing whichever channels are on the frequency that you are recording. apsattv (7406)

^^This.
This is actually a good feature as a lot of devices won't let you watch any other channels if something is recording.
I use MediaPortal on a pc that has this feature and it means I can actually record all freeview channels with only two tuners as they are all on two transponder frequencies.

1247795 2011-12-10 03:12:00 I thought they were on 3 frequencies or used 3 muxes,

from freeviewshop (www.freeviewshop.co.nz)

Freeview HD uses 3 MUXs to broadcast a total of 14 TV and 3 Radio channels. The TVNZ MUX has TV One, TV2, U and TVNZ7, the Mediaworks MUX has TV3, FOUR, C4, and TV3+1, the Kordia Mux has Prime, Maori TV, Parliament TV, Chinese TV 8, TV33, Trackside, Stratos and the radio stations

so with a 2 tuner system

If you are recording TVNZ 7 and Prime at the same time you can't watch TV3 as that would require 3 tuners?
