1247714 2011-12-08 00:20:00 afaik, Councils can now only issue stationary vehicle offences, so if it's driving on the road, not much they can do.

Exactly!!

Did you also phone the Police Trev?

1247715 2011-12-08 00:32:00 No, because I reported one to the police once and they said it was the councils problem.
:)

1247716 2011-12-08 00:33:00 If you have so much time on your hands Trev, take a trip up to Te Hapua in the Far, Far North. You probably would find it hard to find a vehicle that IS registered & warrented. You will be entertained for days narking on them! BigBadBob (14963)
1247717 2011-12-08 00:34:00 Well if the car was being driven it's not the problem of the Council. It's the Councils problem if parked. Snorkbox (15764)

1247719 2011-12-08 02:08:00 I personally think that the 6 monthly WOF system used in this country is a con to garnish more revenue for the testing stations and the city parking officers. After all we don't drive 20 year old clapped out pommy cars like we did when they bought in the 6 monthly WOF scheme. 12 months would be better if you need one at all.... paulw (1826)

1247721 2011-12-08 03:26:00 Its better if it crumples, allows the energy to dissipate.

The good thing about sturdy pommy cars is they looked better than a jap can and lasted better

1247722 2011-12-08 10:17:00 You what?

The pommy automobile industry died for good reason, they made a **** product.

If they were safe it was because the took 3 minutes to hit 80k/h.

Aside from that there strengths were they were pig ugly, heavy, slow, had poor handling, pretend brakes, unreliable, inefficient, and pathetic, and thats without even mentioning the electrics.

Anyone who owns any Japanese car of any kind is more then justified in giving the middle finger to anyone deluded enough to champion any aspect of the **** the brits put out.
