Increasing the minimum wage achieves absolutely nothing as everything else would increase at exactly the same rate. Sitting on your rear end waiting for the taxpayer to give you more for doing less just does not cut it. It is never going to be a long term solution. I have no problem helping those in need but no time for those who's sole motivation is greed. It is lefty governments buying votes that has got the world economy into the position it is now in. If everyone were on the minimum wage, maybe, but most are higher paid and would not be effected. Sitting on your rear end waiting for the taxpayer to give you more for doing less just does not cut it. The current benefit to job transition path, usually ends up with the person getting less for more, and also does not cut it, if you are trying to live day to day.. Handouts to beneficiaries is wrong, but handouts to out-of-pocket investors seems to be just fine ... |

There are far bigger factors on inflation than the meagre wages of a small minority of workers. There is no similar outcry about inflation when business costs are increased in other ways, ACC increases, insurance increases, bank profit increases, directors remuneration increases (!) etc. Being "competitive and efficient" by paying your staff as little as possible is a retarded way do business. |
