Any recent distro will go from blank HDD to productive machine in less time than it takes to install a windows update & takes no special foo to operate. Not to mention all that spare time and money not spent endlessly paying for, maintaining, updating anti-virus, anti-spyware anti-malware etc. |

Old toshiba portege. it was my teachers, she got given it and one day it wouldn't turn on, I found there is a little locking switch under the power button to prevent it being turned on in the bag I guess. Easy fix and when I left school she gave it to me, it was my first machine. Eraser mouse, Win 98SE 1x USB port external FDD. It was great and it played age of empires rise of rome trial like a BOSS!!! No ethernet either. Roll on PCIMCA! |
