| 9410 | 2001-03-01 18:36:00 | I have tried all reccomendations but still I find I can not turn my comp. off. I notice that when I select 'shut down' the select dot does not stay there. It moves itself to 'reboot'. Nothing I do will make it stay put. This is probably why I can't turn the machine off. HELP. Jack |

| 9411 | 2001-03-01 19:32:00 | This might not resolve your problem but .... I have a shortcut on my desktop that when double clicks bypasses the shutdown window and immediatly turns off the computer. It's one of those hints where you make a new shortcut and type in a long number to set it up. The target on the shortcut is: C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE shell32,SHExitWindowsEx 1 If you make a new shortcut and copy and paste that in it MIGHT work. Otherwise maybe someone can remember the hint that creates the shortcut. Good Luck Gary |
