| 9327 | 2001-02-27 20:49:00 | I have recently changed from Win95 to Win98 SR1) and the PC no longer powers off after shut down. I get the 'It is now safe to shutdown....' message and can manually turn off the PC with the power switch. Device manager shows an alert against the APM (Code 10) . APM is on in Bios, and used to work fine under Win95. The PC is a Pentium Pro 150 (Socket 8 Jetway motherboard)Microsoft Support Q188981 refers me to the motherboard manufacturer? Perhaps the old Win95 drivers may work? | Guest (0) | ||

I noticed the APM under system devices was disabled (indicated by a red 'X' through it's ICON). All I did was re-enable the APM device which immediately fixed the shutdown problem. I have no idea why it had been disabled in the first place however! | Guest (0) | ||
