9323 2001-02-27 20:23:00 Hi,
I don't know much about computers but I have to do an assignment on monitors and screen resolutions. I have to recommend which monitor size and screen resolution to use (and why)for a company with 20 employees. Does anybody know about websites that will hold information regarding this subject?

9324 2001-02-28 01:10:00 this is a tough one! as monitor size and the resolutions to run them at is entirely personal preference and related to the most common tasks the computer is used for.

obviously the larger the monitor the larger the screen area, but this does not mean you see more of your page as this depends on the resolution. (640x480 as opposed to 1280x1024).

for say cad tasks or large spreadsheets you would want a large screen with a high resolution so that a) you can see a large area of the document & b) this is displayed at a reasonably readable size.

obviously a 14inch monitor running at 1280x1024 resolution would be most unreadable.

i know people who have 17inch monitors running at 600x800 which almost looks as if it is for the visually imparied to me ( i run my 17inch at 1280X1024) as i hate scrolling documents around)

perhaops you could try viewing different documents with different resolutions and form your own opinion.

basically it comes down to the task and the person rather than the number of employees in the company.

hope this helps a wee bit.
