| 9461 | 2001-03-02 09:15:00 | I know just enough to get into trouble it seems. We have a problem with sound on our PC. We have a sound card installed but believe we are missing some settings. Just need some kind person to talk me through the steps required to get the sound up and running again. It has been working in the past, but after a tech did some work we no longer have noise! Appreciate if someone could assist our family. Many thanks |

| 9462 | 2001-03-02 23:18:00 | Hmmm Option 1: take it back to the tech Option2: check the speakers are working and plugged in Option 3: check the sound card is securely plugged in Option 4: supply details including operating system, sound card type and model (from the card itself if necessary) and if a CD-Rom drive is connected to the sound card. | 9463 | 2001-03-03 23:31:00 | Also, check the volume control and the driver in device manager. The driver could be corrupt. Check also that it is not disabled While in device manager you like to remove your sound card and restart to see if Windows PnP picks it up. This could solve your problems. |

| 9464 | 2001-03-08 05:08:00 | At the risk of insulting anybody, re Merlin's option2 make sure the speakers are plugged in to the right hole. There are usually 3 back there, and they're hardly ever properly marked. When a tech serviced my mother's pc he plugged it back in the wrong one.
