9553 2001-03-04 09:28:00 I am having intermittent sound problems. Playing winamp sometimes works, but then all of a sudden it sounds like there is interference. Videos (windows media player) tend to work fine, but quicktime is not. The cd player has worked fine except one time, when there was the same sort of interference. Having all other programs shut does not work, and there are no conflicts in the sound device. I have tried to adjust those settings anyway, and the problem is still there. I phoned gateway support andd was on with them for 30 minutes to no avail. I did try to install linux and ended up having to reinstall windows and the program files to get windows to work though, and the problem was not there before. Guest (0)
9554 2001-03-04 19:27:00 Hi Hamish,

Try these for a start:
- Get the latest drivers for your sound card.

- Get the latest Directx (8) from microsoft

- Go to windows update & make sure your OS has the latest patches etc installed.
