| 9864 | 2001-03-12 03:35:00 | MODEM: Rockwell 56k ACF 11 FAX+DATA+VOICE MODEM PLUG AND PLAY When Windows 98 first detects this modem, it installs correctly to: BASIC CONFIGUATION 0008 Input/Output Range 0138-013F Interrup Request 10 COM 5 DEVICE MANAGER>MODEMS>(select)>PROPRETIES And everything is sweet as. On rebooting, Windows changes this to: BASIC CONFIGUATION 0007 Input/Output Range 02E8-02EF Interrup Request 10 Then the programs can not find the modem. In both cases the GENERAL Tab shows THIS DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY, and RESOURCES show NO CONFLICTS. Tried unchecking USE AUTOMATIC SETTINGS, it doesn't help. Also tried to CHANGE SETTINGS on BASIC CONFIGURATION 0007 to those of 0008 but Windows won't allow this - THIS RESOURCE SETTING CAN NOT BE MODIFIED. Changing the BASIC CONFIGURATION from 0007 to 0008 makes no difference either. Short of removing the modem each time I wish to reboot, what can I do? |

| 9865 | 2001-03-12 10:39:00 | assuming its a pci modem, first try putting it in another slot. 2nd, try disabling pci steering. otherwise send more info, brand, fcc codes , system, etc. |

| 9866 | 2001-03-14 13:54:00 | Thanks for your suggestions, TR. Tried other slots, same result. Happy to DISABLE PCI STEERING. Could you tell me how? Windows 98 tells me this modem is a ROCKWELL ACF11 PLUG AND PLAY. I know ROCKWELL don't make modems just the chip-sets so God only knows what the true make is. The cd that came with it has COMPUTER ASSOCIATES logo on it but it my guess they just wrote the software. Dispite a lengthy owners manual, it doesn't actually mention this point. Thanks Again BURNZEE |

| 9868 | 2001-03-16 14:35:00 | Unable to find PCI BUS PROPERTIES and/or IRQ STEERING, in the DEVICE MANAGER. Does this mean they are all ready disabled? BURNZEE |
