9828 2001-03-11 19:58:00 When I boot my computer it now shows a message during bootup 'invalid setting in ms dos.sys file - BOOTMENUDELAY='
The system continues to boot as normal, but I only get a very brief view of the Windows startup logo before continuing on to windows. I have opened the ms dos.sys file and tried to add the 'BOOTMENUDELAY=' (not listed at present), but cannot alter file as it is read only. Can someone please tell me how to remove the read only setting so I can add the heading and set a delay time.
My system runs Windows ME

Thanks in advance

9829 2001-03-11 23:43:00 The easiest way to alter the boot delay (default=30 secs) is to use Tweakui if you have it installed. You will find the setting in the Boot tab. Guest (0)
9830 2001-03-12 02:05:00 Thanks Terry for a quick reply to my question, but my version of Tweakui does not have a boot tab or anything on the other tab's that relate
to the Boot delay.
