9816 2001-03-11 09:41:00 Hi there,
I downloaded Powerpoint viewer 97, and when I restarted my computer got the following
message. No spare stack pages. You may need to increase the settings of 'MinSPs'
in SYSTEM.INI, 6 SPs allocated. Could Powerpoint have caused this problem? Or Acrobat Reader? I had deleted Acrobat Reader 3.01 and installed 4.05 before that, but
the system seemed to be fine. The message only popped up after downloading Powerpoint. I used
GoBack to get me back to before my download of Powerpoint and upgrade to Acrobat
4.05, but thought I'd ask about the cause of the message before trying to download
Powerpoint, or upgrade Acrobat Reader again.I have read other peoples responses to the 'MinSPs', which have been very interesting.
I am running a Gateway 733 with 128mb RAM, and Windows ME. The powerpoint site said it was suitable for 98/2000/NT only, but Gateways help desk said it should be ok with ME. Is this the problem in this instance? Any info greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Graham.

9817 2001-03-11 22:10:00 To resolve this situation, add the following line to the [386Enh] section of the
System.ini file and then restart your computer:

MinSPs=4

If the problem persists, increase the number of spare stack pages in increments
of 4 (for example, 8, 12, 16).

NOTE: Each spare stack page requires 4 kilobytes of memory.
