| 9941 | 2001-03-13 06:22:00 | I just downloaded 'SeeknClean' in oreder to help clear out some of the clutter on my hard-drive. Now that I have done this, is there any way to recover some of the files that I've now (unwittingly) deleted? I know they're there somewhere, I just don't quite know where. HELP!!! |

PC World ran an article about this a few months ago, you may want to fish it out. You could try booting off a dos 6.22 boot disk and using the DOS Undelete command. (if your're running FAT16 on wintendo9x, you'll also lose long filenames too) | Guest (0) | ||

However if you carry on using the computer it may write over the top of the file. Exactly the same thing happened to me with Macfee -dog something. It said it was perfectly safe to use on your system, so I trusted the program and hit Clean, and lost 500 meg of files. I had to reinstall everything again. Some stuff was unreplaceable. never again will I use a clean up program on trust. |
