9941 2001-03-13 06:22:00 I just downloaded 'SeeknClean' in oreder to help clear out some of the clutter on my hard-drive. Now that I have done this, is there any way to recover some of the files that I've now (unwittingly) deleted? I know they're there somewhere, I just don't quite know where.
HELP!!!

9942 2001-03-13 22:17:00 you've got a bit of work ahead of you if you're serious about this. Perhaps you might want to look at third party utils from nortons and symantec. PC World ran an article about this a few months ago, you may want to fish it out. You could try booting off a dos 6.22 boot disk and using the DOS Undelete command. (if your're running FAT16 on wintendo9x, you'll also lose long filenames too) Guest (0)
9943 2001-03-14 05:45:00 You may be too late, the deleted file is only renamed with a ? instead of the first letter in the file name. So it is often still able to be recovered. However if you carry on using the computer it may write over the top of the file.
Exactly the same thing happened to me with Macfee -dog something.
It said it was perfectly safe to use on your system, so I trusted the program and hit Clean, and lost 500 meg of files. I had to reinstall everything again. Some stuff was unreplaceable. never again will I use a clean up program on trust.
