| 9933 | 2001-03-13 03:48:00 | when I try and download tweakui from the pcworld march 2001 cd-rom, I can't get passed the dialogue boix asking me to unzip files.when I press unzip I am told that 4 files have unzipped so I press ok.this takes me back to the request to unzip. the only other option is to run winzip, but I only have the evaluation pack for winzip. If I have to download winzip from the supplier it will cost me $us29.95. thats an awful lot of money just to be able to download a free copy of tweakui. Any advice???? | Guest (0) | ||
| 9934 | 2001-03-13 04:54:00 | That's because this is a very simple program with no install routine. Simply unzip into a directory of your choice (suggest C:\Program Files\Tweakui) and then create a shortcut to the .EXE to run it. | Guest (0) | ||
| 9935 | 2001-03-13 04:59:00 | Here's a clip from the installation instructions Once you've saved the tweakui133.exe archive where you can find it on your hard drive, double-click it to unzip it. The archive unzips the files that install Tweak UI (into the C:\Windows\Temp directory by default, though you can save them anywhere). When the extraction finishes, navigate to the directory where the files unzipped, then right-click tweakui.inf and choose Install. As part of the briefer-than-usual installation process, you'll see the Tweak UI help file open. You can browse this file now or later, but the installation doesn't complete until you close this window. Have a look in C:\windows\temp and go from there. Cheers BJ |

| 9937 | 2001-03-14 01:07:00 | If you want a FREE unzip program as good as Winzip go to www.camdevelopment.com and download Cam Unzip. If you look long enough you will find most basic utilities as freeware. |
