10107 2001-03-16 19:30:00 i've split my 20 gig hd into 3 - C, D and E drives. i have just added a slave 1.5 gig hd to use solely as a backup. this has now become the D drive. i would have thought it would follow on from the others and become the F drive. anyway to arrange this?? Guest (0)
10108 2001-03-17 04:27:00 Be careful putting an old drive like that as a slave to a newer drive, as the old one may be slowing down the new one considerably. Guest (0)
10109 2001-03-17 06:05:00 Windows assigns primary partitions before logical partitions - hence the primary partition on the 1.5G drive appears second on the list. Go to My Computer, right click and click onto properties and choose Device Manager. Right click on the drive icon and choose properties. Under the settings tab you can re-assign the drive letters.
