10093 2001-03-16 09:59:00 I know this is most likely a dumb question, but hey, I am blonde. No slur on other blondes, just me. LOL I know I can plug my home phone through the puter, in the socket beside the modem one, but will it still work when the puter is turned off. Told you I was blonde. Thanks Guest (0)
10094 2001-03-16 10:36:00 yep.....though sometimes it can degrade modem performance. try it and see. (super gran..lol) Guest (0)
10095 2001-03-16 14:50:00 Have a similar setup myself. No problems. Yes, the phone still works when the computer is turned off.

Just use common sense and make sure your phone is a tone dialer and all the wiring is installed correctly. This will prevent any degrading of the phone line.

A tone dialer phone makes bleeps when you press the keys.

10097 2001-03-19 00:21:00 Thanks, yes we do have a tone phone, and we need every bit of help we can get with these old rural phone lines. Will try it, and see how I go. Thanks again. Guest (0)
