10072 2001-03-16 01:34:00 I have come across this problem before, but can't remember how to fix it! This is a computer with both Outlook and Outlook express installed. OE is set as the default mail program but will not catch clicks on email links. When an email address link on a web page is clicked, a window about profiles comes up. How do I make OE kick in? 10073 2001-03-16 07:03:00 Check the settings in Explorer (I assume if you are using Outlook, you are using IE as well). Check the Programs tab in Tools/Internet Options to make sure OE is set as the Email default.

In OE - Tools/Options, the General tab has a button for setting OE as the default message handler for Email. Make sure you have clicked on this.

Hope this is of some help.

10074 2001-03-16 07:29:00 Hi Kerrin, go to internet options/programs and make sure that outlook express is selected for mail and news, if you have to change either remember to click apply or OK when leaving. To check, go to windows explorer/view/folder options/file types scroll down to URL:mailto protocol and highlight it the comments should show Opens with MSIMN which is of course outlook express.

10075 2001-03-18 09:04:00 Thank you, Peter. Is it OK to just change that association to OE? I haven't yet been back to the computer in question so I don't know what is in there. Guest (0)
