10275 2001-03-21 06:47:00 Using Outlook Express and Xtra, have contacted a colleague by email. Sent the message and got an instant 'Auto reply' informing me that he is away.

Have checked Outlook Express Help to no avail.

Anyone know how this is set up?

Thanks in advance

10276 2001-03-21 08:28:00 I expect that he's using Outlook, not Outlook express. Outlook is the version which comes with Office, and is designed for use in a corporate environment. It is more fully featured than outlook express, which is the free version Microsoft give away with anything and everything to (in my humble opinion) gain market dominance. :-)

Mind you, I don't use Outlook express myself so I can't say for sure that there is no version which doesn't have an auto-reply feature.

Thanks.

10277 2001-03-21 08:28:00 there are 2 ways to do this both use message rules.in out look express go tools-message rules-mail-new then just make up the rule you want.or on xtra goto your web mail click on options then rules and as b4 make up the rule you want.
this is the best option as you do not have to be online to send the auto-reply
