| 10235 | 2001-03-20 06:09:00 | Is there any way I can access a second fonts folder through Word? I am running Win98SE with Word 2000 Professional. Recently I downloaded some extra fonts. I would like to create a subsidiary folder on my C drive to store a few hundred of these fonts. However it seems that Word will only access the Fonts Folder in Windows and I cannot find any way to get it to access any addition folder I create. This means that when I am working in word I cannot access the extra fonts. I will appreciate any advice offered. Wyevern Price |

You can only install a max of 1000 fonts so you may have to delete the ones you don't want. Look at http://www.lockergnome.com/ for more on this great site. | 10237 | 2001-03-21 02:48:00 | Dear Roger Thanks for your comment about the Fonts folder in W98SE. Your comments seem to confirm that there is no way to persuade Word 2000 to access a secondary fonts file quite separetly to the standard folder in Windows. My problem is complicated by the fact that I have a fairly simple photo editing package -Photodelux- and it won't open if you have too many fonts in the standard Windows folder. The maximum is about 700. Hence my question about a secondary folder. Having to move fonts from folder to folder of course is both time consuming and inconvenient. But it might be doable if I could find a bit of software that would allow me to view the fonts in the secondary folder and choose the font I want. Have you ever heard of a beast that would do that? Thanks for your reply. Regards Wyevern Price |
