10223 2001-03-20 00:16:00 I have Win 95. Seemingly out of the blue, when I try to drag a file or copy or cut and paste I get 'Fatal Error', Unable to create an instance of required object:ServerAdmin.' On clicking OK I get 'Explorer', 'This program has performed an illegal..(etc)'
On clicking CLOSE my system tray empties of icons and I have to reboot.
Help, please, I am stuck.

10224 2001-03-22 10:39:00 first try scandisk, defrag & regclean (if you have it if not its downloadable from www.microsoft.com. Check for viruses. It sounds like a corrupted file(s) so a reinstallation may be in order. Insert Windows disk and select Setup. If your lucky you'll get the option to 'Restore Corrupted files' otherwise choose reinstall first time select kept newer files whenever prompted. If this does not help try again replacing newer files with original ones (this may cause problems with some of your software requiring that to be reinstalled). Don't forget to back up important files first. If all else fails back up all files worth keeping, make sure have a startup disk which allows access to your cd. Format your hard drive and do a complete install of windows and software. Not a bad idea after a few years of garbage collection especially if you try out a lot of software. Good Luck!!!! Guest (0)
10225 2001-03-23 04:55:00 Thank you for your input. Have stumbled over the problem. My Internet Explorer was corrupt and seeing as how it and Windows Explorer share files it corrupted Win Exp also, which corrupted my file management (cut/copy/move/paste). With assistance from Microsoft got the corruption resolved to a point where I could reinstall a clean copy of IE5.5 without it being corrupted in the process. Thanks. Guest (0)
