| 10389 | 2001-03-24 22:31:00 | I wish my name to be removed from the 'Start / Log Off' area of my screen. Like a fool I entered my name while reinstaling Win98SE, but before my brain was in gear. I now suspect my name is attached to cookies wherever I visit on the web. Could someone please help me? | Guest (0) | ||

Internet Explorer names cookies as user@site, I don't know if a web page can retrieve the user name of the computer, so your name might be safe. If you want to remove the Log Off option on the Start menu, install Tweak UI from March 2001 PC World Plus, go to Start?Settings?Control Panel, select Tweak UI, click on the IE tab, and uncheck Allow Log Off. Click OK. |
