10380 2001-03-24 11:22:00 I recently opted for a serial mouse to correct ongoing probs
with PS2 mouse....works great!!
But now our Pfaff embroidery machine program gives 'no communication with machine'.
Was on com1...now serialmouse
has com1, modem com2. I installed com3 & 4 and then selected each within the embroidery prog itself, but still no go. The serial mouse plug is alongside the embroidery machine plug. Any ideas? Can I cure this without going back to the problematic PS2?

10381 2001-03-24 11:45:00 i would be inclined to find out what is wrong with the ps2. i've always found the ps2 to be simpler and more responsive. Guest (0)

I would be overjoyed to fix the PS2 prob but we wrestled with that over a long period of time, trying a new mouse, reinstalling OS, amongst other things. That prob was posted both with F1 and other online help sites. In brief, mouse froze on screen after keyboard use....on reboot windows cannot 'find' mouse and dups hardware.
Always floppy & controller, LPT1 and com1, and sometimes
other drives also. An extremely frustrating prob that can occur several times in a day or not for up to 2 weeks. Could take over an hour to 'convince' windows it actually had a mouse! Some of the suggestions I did not try was BIOS upgrade and new motherboard.

Stumped?...we are.
