10480 2001-03-26 20:32:00 Anyone know of some software which will calalogue files archived on CD's? Preferably reporting the directory structures rather than simply list all the files without directories.
Thanks

Check out Znet http://shareware.cnet.com/ and do a search.

btw - if you save the catalogues as text files, link them to access and useit to run queries.

10483 2001-03-27 23:45:00 If you type 'dir /s /b >list.txt' (without the quotes) at the DOS prompt it will create a text file containing a list of the files and their directories. /s is used to display subdirectory information and /b provides the bare bones format with no headings or summary. 10484 2001-03-28 21:18:00 Thanks everyone for your help. I am posting this message in case it is of help to others looking to do the same thing. I have found a programme called 'WhereIsIt' which scans the CD and gives a complete breakdown of everything by files, folders and type. I am still evaluating it but looks good so far. Shareware 30 days free trial. Comes 'highly rated' and 'Must Have'by others with a large archive libraries. Use Google to locate. Guest (0)
