| 10425 | 2001-03-25 07:34:00 | I have an IBM scanner which works perfectly in one computer (pent 1) Trying to install in other Pent2 (Dell) causes the keyboard and mouse to lock up. Setup says that I have a ecp lpt1 port. There are no conflicts shown, if I unplug scanner the keyboard and mouse work. Original Pent 1 shows std. lpt1 port. How can I alter other computer to accept scanner? Regards Alan |

Mine is selectable between SPP - standard printer port, EPP - enhanced parallel port, and ECP - extended capabilities port. Try changing it to SPP or similar, you can always change it back again. I have only two choices -PS/2 or AT mode when I select 'Parallel Mode adn if I select Parallel Port it gives me choice of 378h 278h 03bch? I reckon I shall have to get parallel port card or continue using my old computer. Tks for your help Regards Alan |
