| 10568 | 2001-03-28 05:44:00 | My second 4.gb HDD did have Mandrake 7.2 installed. As I had changed default setup in Drake config Grub to boot Win 98 then Linux. As I soon discovered the system would not rebot Win98 as LI appeared on DML and system halt. Do fdisk and and format drive 2 as fat 32 4126 mb on re boot LI still at DML and system halted. Select NO slave drive installed and Win98 boots. The question is .How can I remove the LI from bot sector. Write Protect error writing fixed disk If you do not select Bot sector is to be changed I did Accept at on reboot but it made no difference The 2Hdd has to be removed or I am unable to reboot the system. Any HELP on this weird situation. Maurice |

How'ever Linux will now only boot from Floppy disk and that is Lilo menu. I would like to configure Linux to boot via GNU GRUB but do not know commands. Any ideas? system board Troubleshooting DMI I took a chance and reset BIOS to default and that semed to clear the LI pop up that would not let win98 boot Sure is live and learn when problems pop up Maurice |
