Here in SophosLabs, we have been receiving a fair number of requests from the general public asking about the supposed "internet doomsday", said to strike on July 9th, which will leave "hundreds of thousands of internet users without internet access". (nakedsecurity.sophos.com) |

Yeah. Certain computers infected with a Trojan have had their DNS hijacked to look at certain servers which can then redirect them to bogus sites. FBI seized the servers and have been maintaining them so anyone with the trojan can still access the internet but obviously without the false DNS results, but now the FBI is planning on taking down those servers so it could lead to people with that trojan not being able to access the internet. |

Keep in mind this is the FBI you are allowing into your PC. Of course you gents are in NZ so it won't make a difference in your case but considering the political climate here in the US I am not about to allow some jack booted government thugs into my personal space. My political views would most definitely be considered "unsavory" by the current administration. BTW Lovelee, I love your sig. |
